Recent reports have suggested that Alvarez opted for Atletico Madrid over Liverpool when he left Manchester City last summer.

Agent’s Statement

Fernando Hidalgo, the player’s agent, clarified in an interview with Erem News: “There were no official proposals from Liverpool last season, and claims to the contrary are inaccurate.”

He further explained, “Last summer, no offers were made as Atletico Madrid had no intention of selling the player, leading to the absence of any negotiations.”

Current Status

The Argentine forward is contracted with Atletico Madrid until 2030. Thus far in the current season, he has netted one goal in four matches. In his inaugural year with Atletico, he recorded an impressive total of 30 goals across 61 appearances.
