Career Journey of Atletico Madrid Forward
Striker Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid has revealed that he had the chance to join Real Madrid when he was younger.
Having made a significant impact in LaLiga after transferring from Manchester City about a year and a half ago, Alvarez continues to shine with his current club.
Alvarez’s Early Experience in Madrid
In an interview with L’Equipe, Alvarez shared,
When I was 11, I had the chance to come to Madrid. My father traveled with me to Spain for around 20 days.
He continued,
I trained with Real Madrid and participated in a tournament in Peralada, which we won. However, for me to stay, my entire family would have needed to move with me. It was an amazing experience, but it felt a bit too soon for me at that age.
Future Speculations and Current Focus
When asked about the possibility of succeeding Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona next summer, Alvarez responded,
Honestly, I don’t have a clear idea. I see the chatter on social media… There’s quite a bit of speculation in Spain regarding my link to Barcelona. When I opted for Atlético last year, there were also rumors about Paris.
He further elaborated,
Indeed, there were conversations between PSG’s management and my agent; they expressed their interest in me, but ultimately, nothing came of it. Right now, my attention is solely on Atlético, and we’ll see what unfolds at the end of the season.
