Arsenal Forward Expresses Desire to Reconnect with Previous Club Before Injury Comeback
Gabriel Jesus Open to Arsenal Reunion as Injury Recovery Progresses
Forward’s Return on the Horizon
Former Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has indicated his willingness to rejoin the Gunners as he approaches a long-awaited comeback from injury. The 28-year-old has been sidelined since sustaining an ACL injury during Arsenal’s FA Cup match against Manchester United in January.
Injury Update and Future Prospects
In a recent conversation with ESPN Brazil, Jesus shared that he is making significant strides in his recovery but acknowledged that his long-term career path may lead him away from the Premier League.
“I hear daily from the (Arsenal) coach and management that they are looking forward to my return,” Jesus stated. “I don’t envision myself being excluded from the club’s plans.”
He also emphasized his current contract, saying, “I have an agreement in place until 2027, and unless it’s renewed before then, I’ll remain with the club at least until that date.”
Possible Return to Boyhood Club
When asked about the possibility of returning to his first club, Palmeiras, Jesus remarked, “There will always be mutual interest from both sides. However, no formal discussions have taken place.”
He added, “It’s natural for someone like me, who came through the youth ranks at Palmeiras and subsequently moved to Europe, to want to return at some point. Everyone at the club knows of my aspirations.”
“When I eventually decide to come back to Brazil, which is not in my plans for now, my heart will always be with Palmeiras.”
