Arsenal has expressed interest in acquiring Luis Benedetti, a defender from Palmeiras.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners are in a bidding war with Barcelona for the services of the 19-year-old player.

Palmeiras has set a price tag of €15 million for Benedetti.

In contrast, Barcelona is reportedly prepared to extend an offer of €12 million to secure the center-back. The Spanish club views Benedetti as a prospective substitute for Iñigo Martínez, who transferred to Al Nassr earlier this summer.

Arsenal is also keen on bringing in a young center-back following the departure of Jakub Kiwior to Porto.
