Algeria striker Mohamed Amine Amoura believes the current generation of Fennecs has the quality and hunger to win a third TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in Morocco this December.
Speaking to CAFonline.com, the Wolfsburg forward said Algeria will face Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan in Group E with full confidence.
“We respect everyone but fear no one,” Amoura said. “Our squad is balanced, full of talent, and ready to prove its worth on the pitch.”
The 25-year-old continues to shine for both club and country, scoring consistently in AFCON and World Cup qualifiers. He credited his form to hard work and the belief his coach and teammates show in him.
Amoura said he plans to carry that momentum into the tournament. “AFCON is special. Every match can change everything, so I want to be ready,” he added.
He made Algeria’s goal clear: reach the final stages and fight for the trophy. “We want to make our fans proud, but that takes focus and patience — one game at a time,” he said.
Under coach Vladimir Petković, Algeria will open their campaign against Sudan on 24 December at Rabat’s Moulay Hassan Stadium, then play Burkina Faso on 28 December and Equatorial Guinea on 31 December.
Experienced stars Riyad Mahrez, Ismaël Bennacer, Houssem Aouar, Rayan Aït-Nouri, and Youcef Atal will return to strengthen the squad after recent injuries.
Amoura ended with a message to fans: “Our supporters give us energy. We’ll fight for every ball and every result so that Algeria can be proud.”
