Dutch journalist Mike Verweij has reported that Ajax is eyeing a move for Arne Slot, the current manager of Liverpool.

During an appearance on a podcast for De Telegraaf, Verweij discussed the potential for this managerial switch. He stated, “Is Dick Schreuder the top candidate for Ajax next summer? Well, the word is that Jordi Cruyff is quite taken by Arne Slot.”

He further noted, “It’s uncertain where things will stand at the end of this season. It’s possible that Cruyff might reach out to Slot, which casts doubt on Peter Bosz’s chances since he indicated that Cruyff doesn’t need to make any calls to him.”

Verweij also mentioned, “It wouldn’t surprise me if Cruyff explores opportunities in the Spanish market and considers a Spanish manager.”
