CAF and PUMA Unveil Official AFCON 2025 Match Ball

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) and PUMA unveiled the official TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 match ball.

Named ITRI, the ball draws inspiration from Morocco’s centuries-old zellij art, celebrated for its intricate geometric mosaics, and symbolizes the unity and passion of African football.

The name ITRI honors the star on Morocco’s flag and mirrors the traditional star patterns in zellij craftsmanship.

PUMA released a reveal video ahead of the ball’s debut in the tournament opener.

The ball’s design features central star geometry, petal shapes, and circular symmetry.

Stars represent ambition and excellence, petals celebrate growth and festive spirit, and circles reflect the unity of the 24 competing nations.

The “Flow of Movement” patterns capture African football’s dynamic rhythm, while the red and green palette pays tribute to Morocco’s identity and the continent’s passion.

Mohamed Ghonemi, CAF’s Creative Development Manager, said: “The AFCON 2025 ball brings together art, motion, and African spirit. Collaborating with PUMA allowed us to create something that connects every nation through a shared love of football.”

Built on PUMA’s Orbita 6 technology, the ITRI ball blends tradition with innovation, delivering elite performance while celebrating African culture.

Peter Dangl, PUMA’s Director EEMEA Distribution, added: “ITRI combines Moroccan artistry with cutting-edge performance. It reflects both the host nation’s heritage and the unity of African football.”

The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 kicks off on 21 December 2025, showcasing Africa’s top football nations.
