Potential Departure for Fullkrug
AC Milan has set its sights on West Ham United’s forward Niclas Fullkrug. The German striker is reportedly preparing for a possible move away from the Hammers in January after a challenging 18 months in London.
Swap Deal on the Table
Milan is considering a potential swap deal that could also involve Mexican international Santi Gimenez. Fullkrug’s agent, Thorsten Wirth, suggested last week that a transition could take place around the New Year.
Agent Comments on Fullkrug’s Situation
Wirth shared insights, stating,
Many would likely agree that Niclas embodies the archetype of a classic penalty area forward. He excels in the aerial game, possesses physical strength, and can effectively shield the ball — attributes that suit the Premier League.
Reflecting on Fullkrug’s time at West Ham, Wirth admitted,
In hindsight, we must acknowledge that the transfer did not unfold as hoped. There is no use in sugarcoating the facts.
Speculations on January Move
When asked about the possibility of Fullkrug leaving in January, Wirth said,
Any move would need to be coordinated with the club; however, I believe a change might be helpful. There were long periods when it seemed he was about to show his qualities in England after a strong European Championship, only for another injury to slow him down.
He added,
He has experienced a bit of bad momentum and some unfortunate luck.
