The Football Association has chosen 17-year-old Adongo Angelous Akurugu from Navrongo Senior High School to referee the much-anticipated Premier League Matchday 5 clash between Nations FC and Asante Kotoko. This exciting matchup will take place at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Rising Star in Officiating
Akurugu is among the talented individuals being trained under the “Catch Them Young Refereeing Initiative.” He has started to gain recognition within the officiating community. His recent performance during the CAF African Schools Football Championship final, where he managed the match between Senegal and Tanzania at the University of Ghana Stadium, highlighted his composure and strong decision-making skills on an international level.
Match Officials
Akurugu will be supported by line assistants Joseph Teye Awasabi and Haruna Yakubu, while Kingsford Oteng Yeboah will take on the role of fourth official. Additionally, Tasembedo Ousmane has been designated as the Match Commissioner, and Christine Enyonam Zigah, who leads the GFA Referees Appointment Committee, will act as the Referee Assessor for this important fixture.
