Stöger’s Stunning Strike Sparks Gladbach Revival
A Much-Needed Victory
After a dismal run of just one win in their last nine matches, Borussia Mönchengladbach decided it was time for a change. Kevin Stöger, who had struggled for form this season, stepped up when it mattered most.
A Free Kick to Remember
In the 37th minute, Stöger unleashed a spectacular free kick from 25 meters out, sending the ball soaring into the top corner of the net. The Kiezkicker goalkeeper, Vasilj, was left helpless as the ball found its mark.
Ending the Drought
Stöger’s goal not only provided a much-needed boost for Gladbach but also ended a significant drought for the team. This was their first direct free kick goal in over five years, a feat last achieved by Lars Stindl.
Expanding the Lead
Borussia Mönchengladbach extended their lead to 2-0 in the second half. Franck Honorat found the net in the 62nd minute, courtesy of an assist from Scally.
